Greenville, S.C. – Public Education Partners (PEP), Greenville’s only independent nonprofit solely dedicated to investing in and improving public education, recently welcomed five new members to its Board of Directors.
Additionally, while not a new face to PEP, Dr. John Kaup has assumed the role of Board Chair (2019-2020), replacing Lee Yarborough who remains a board member.
“Public Education Partners is proud to recognize five new board members for 2019,” said Kaup. “Collectively they bring decades of experience in non-profit, housing and higher education. I look forward to leading them and the rest of the board as we implement our recently adopted strategic plan.”
The five new members of PEP’s Board of Directors are: Justin Cazel, Regional Mortgage Sales Manager, South State Bank; Dr. Shaniece Criss, Health Science Faculty Member, Furman University; Joel Douglas, Sales Manager, ScanSource; Maurie Lawrence, Senior Counsel, Milliken & Company; and Dr. Julie Smart, Researcher and Faculty Member, Clemson University College of Education.
