Parent Leadership Partners (PLP Network)
Public Education Partners and the Urban League of The Upstate are partnering to empower parents with the skills to advocate for their children by leveraging youth serving organizations, and building trusting family relationships. to systematically affirm parents’ agency and advocacy within the school district.
Anticipated outcomes:
- Increase parent to parent support
- Increase parent/family awareness of school’s policies and procedures
- Increased parent/family engagement in student academic planning, i.e. Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) process
- Increase parent participation in school & district events
- Increase parent and student self-advocacy
