VOLUNTEER

Lend a Hand. Support a School!

Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to help throughout the year, we’d love to have you on our team of “Purple People.”  Volunteers play an important role in helping us support teachers, students, and schools across Greenville County.

Current volunteer opportunities include:

  • Preparing teacher appreciation gifts and surprises
  • Delivering supplies and materials to local schools
  • Assisting with mailings and administrative projects
  • Welcoming educators at special events like #TeachGCS Night at Fluor Field
  • Supporting family engagement and literacy events
  • Helping with fundraising and community events
  • And much more!

Every volunteer effort helps us champion teachers, equip families, and strengthen public education in our community.

Volunteer Spotlight:  Maile Takata

Maile Takata (at right) wanted to deepen her involvement in the community, especially around the issues that matter most to her: food insecurity and education. When she searched online for local organizations supporting public education, PEP came up at the top — and that’s where her journey with us began.

For Maile, the daughter of two educators in Virginia, volunteering with PEP was a perfect fit. She can do some of the work from home and fit the rest around her schedule. So far, she’s helped with PEP mailings, prepared books for school reading nights, and assisted with the Future Teacher Academy’s iTeach conference this fall.

She’s also been an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Riverside High School PTSA. We’re so thankful to have you as part of the PEP team, Maile!!
