GREENVILLE COMMUNITY READ

In 2020, Public Education Partners launched its Greenville Community Read, a month-long virtual book study that brings together educators and community members for courageous conversations about critical topics that impact student success in our public schools. Facilitated small group discussions and a customized study guide help foster powerful conversations and learning for all participants. Books are provided to up to 100 Greenville County Schools educators at no charge, and resources developed for the Read each summer are then available to educators and the public so that they can continue the discussion with their colleagues and peers on their own.

Titles have included:

2022 – What Happened to You? (Dr. Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey)

2021 – Teaching When The World is On Fire (Lise Delpit, editor)

2020 – Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria? (Dr. Beverly D. Tatum)
