Equip Families

Parent. Supporter. Teacher. Champion.

However you serve, Public Education Partners is building a space for you to learn, engage, and lift your voice in support of Greenville County’s students, teachers, and public schools.  We equip families by providing both tools and trainings to help increase positive engagement with schools and support for students.

We’re proud to introduce our newly formed Parent Advisory Council—a dynamic group of parents and caregivers representing students across Greenville County Schools. This council brings together families from a wide range of backgrounds, each with unique perspectives and differing needs for navigating the school district.

The goal of the Parent Advisory Council is simple but powerful: to create a trusted sounding board where parents can voice their needs for support—whether that includes understanding school processes, accessing district resources, or advocating for tools that help their children thrive.

Thank you to Victoria Long, Miguel Garcia, Emily Goforth, Stuart Reynolds, Genia Harvey, Amy Muñoz, Jennifer Fenske, Amy Hibbs, and Blake Brookshire! We’re honored to collaborate with these parent leaders as we work to strengthen communication, access, and opportunity for all families.

Parent LEadership Partners (PLP)

This strategic initiative with our partner, Urban League of the Upstate, is designed to encourage parents to actively participate in their children's academic journeys. This interactive, three-month program also offers parents the opportunity to build relationships with other families and equips all of them with the leadership skills needed for effective advocacy. Based on the Carolina Family Engagement Center Framework, PLP currently serves ten to 20 parent participants each year. For more information, contact Dr. Yolanda Crittendon-Jones at yolanda@pepgc.org.

EDtalks and community forums

Key Terms

Public Education Partners wants to help parents to feel fully equipped as they head into schools. Educational terms can bring a lot of confusion, so we've created a list of common terms that parents may face when inside their child's school. From IEP meetings to fall conferences, educational meetings should be a time for partnership instead of frustration. Click the link below to learn more and of course feel free to email us if you have questions about different terms, topics, or ideas as you work for the betterment of your child's education.

Compare your school or school district on a variety of topics with any school or district in the state, including:

  • student achievement from kindergarten to post-secondary;
  • school funding, teacher salaries and how the money is spent (or “where the money goes”);
